The world defines a crush, as the desire to date the person you find attractive both mentally and physically. Webster defines it as to press or squeeze (someone or something) with force or violence, typically causing serious damage or injury. Though it described as something gruesome and painful we all continue to do it. We continue to have crushes. A crush is a hopeless battle of fighting off the physical and mental attraction to someone not knowing if they feel the same way. With hope in our hearts we justify the pain and uncertainty and glamorize the scenario as if it were a Disney movie. Whether we play it cool and act like we don’t care, gush over the person any opportunity that’s presented, or pursue and succeed in our conquest of dating that person, a crush is and always will be painful at one point or the other.
